Hypnotherapy
What is hypnotherapy?

The term "hypnosis" is derived from the Greek word hypnos meaning "sleep." Hypnotherapists typically use exercises that bring about deep relaxation and an altered state of consciousness, also known as a trance. Many people routinely experience a trance-like state while they are watching television or sitting at a red light. A person in a trance or deeply focused state is unusually responsive to an idea or image, but this does not mean that a hypnotist can control the person's mind and free will. On the contrary, hypnosis can actually teach people how to master their own states of awareness. By doing so they can affect their own bodily functions and psychological responses.

For re-invigorating a loving reationship I use couple hypnosis, which, as well as being a lovely experience is so effective in bringing back the magic to your relationship.

Hypnotherapy has proven to be wonderfully effective in improving ability and performance. Actors, musicians, all performers, can benefit from hypnotherapy, as can footballers, golfers, tennis players, and so on. Achieve a natural “high” while boosting confidence and self-awareness.

Hypnosis produces a very deep relaxation, enabling us to get in touch with our inner being. When we are relaxed in this way we are completely in control and very aware. We are able to achieve a state of heightened awareness.

Recent research carried out by scientists at the universities of Harvard and Stanford in the United States has demonstrated beyond doubt that “Hypnosis is no clever stage show, it does alter the way the brain works”. David Spiegel, professor of psychiatry and behavioural sciences at Stanford’s School of Medicine has used hypnosis on adults and children having painful medical procedures. Findings have so far shown that when the patient is taught and uses self-hypnosis they experience far less distress and surgical procedures take less time to carry out.
Pain Relief/Management
Hypnosis is very useful for helping manage/control pain, as in childbirth, brilliant for children with imaginary tummy ache (usually caused by separation anxiety), as well as in chronic conditions such as IBS (Irritable Bowel Synndrome).
